Director Of Geoscience at Cegal

John Sayer has a diverse work experience in various industries. John started their career at Hays Ships as a Geotechnical Assistant, where they provided interpretation of marine geophysical surveys. John then worked at the QICS Project as an Oceanographer, conducting a Master's thesis project. Later, they joined MaRE Trans. Ltd. as a Broker, offering a procurement support service to the underwater industry.

In 2012, John joined Earthworks Reservoir as a Sales Manager and later as a Business Development Manager. There, they were responsible for global business development, international sales and marketing, client liaison, software sales management, and customer support.

From 2013 to 2014, John worked at Earthworks Reservoir as the Aberdeen Director, overseeing various responsibilities in sales and marketing. In 2014, they became the Aberdeen Young Professionals Chair at the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain (PESGB).

In 2016, John took on the role of Aberdeen Director Elect at PESGB and later became the Aberdeen Director in 2017. During this time, they also served as the Business Development Chairman for PETEX events in 2018 and 2020/2021.

In 2016, John joined Cegal as the Aberdeen Manager for Blueback Reservoir, where they handled new business development, software sales and account management, and G&G consultancy resourcing. John then became the Sales Manager for the UK & Africa region, setting and delivering the sales strategy, targets, and budget.

Currently, John is the Commercial Director - Geoscience Products at Cegal. In this role, they are globally responsible for all commercial elements of the Cegal Geoscience products and services, owning the portfolio GTM and strategy, customer journey, and customer experience. John also manages and leads sales performance across all Cegal regions.

John Sayer completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Oceanography with First Class Honours at Bangor University from 2007 to 2010. John then pursued a Master of Science degree in Carbon Capture & Storage at The University of Edinburgh from 2010 to 2011.
