James Deck is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in process and process safety engineering. Currently serving as a Principal Process / Process Safety Engineer at Celanese since August 2017, James has progressed through various roles including Senior Process / Process Safety Engineer and Advanced Process Engineer. In November 2023, James joined PIP - Process Industry Practices as part of the Process Safety Function Team. Prior to Celanese, James worked at Flint Hills Resources from January 2013 to August 2017, where responsibilities included serving as a subject matter expert for Amine, Sour Water, and Sulfur Recovery Units, and managing small capital projects as a Process Project Engineer. James began professional development with internships at Flint Hills Resources, Celanese, and Wood Group Mustang, following a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University, earned in 2012.
