Michael Simpson

Michael Simpson, MBA, has extensive experience in environmental management and remediation, currently serving as Director of Global Remediation at Celanese since May 2017. Prior roles at Celanese include Senior Project Manager and Retained Environmental Matters Manager. Michael previously held the position of President at MSS Environmental Management, Inc. from April 2014 to April 2017, and worked as a Staff Scientist at ERM: Environmental Resources Management from October 2012 to March 2014. Additional experience includes roles as a Staff Consultant at PM Environmental and a Post-Graduate Researcher at the UNC Institute of Marine Sciences. Michael began a career in environmental sciences as a Microbial Ecology Lab Technician at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Educational qualifications include an MBA from Queens University of Charlotte and a B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, and Marine Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
