Jon Aster

Jon is a Professor of Pathology and Chief of the Division of Hematopathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. For more than 25 years, he has been investigating the role of NOTCH signaling in cancer, including hematologic malignancies (T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, T-ALL, B-cell lymphomas) and solid tumors in which NOTCH plays an oncogenic role, such as breast cancer and adenoid cystic carcinoma. He provides particular expertise in the area of biomarkers of NOTCH activation in various cancer types, which can help to guide patient selection for clinical trials, and also has unique insights into fundamental aspects of transcriptional regulation by NOTCH.
