Field Application Engineer at Cellink

Kar Perng Low has a diverse work experience in the fields of biosciences, bioprinting, and cancer research.

From 2022 to the present, Kar worked as a Field Technical Specialist at BICO, where they handled field technical and remote troubleshooting issues for biosciences products in the APAC region. They ensured timely responses to support tickets, prepared training materials, and provided technical guides for distributors and new hires.

Also in 2022, Kar worked as a Field Application Engineer at CELLINK's Bioprinting Division. In this role, they provided application recommendations and bioprinting demonstrations to customers and distributors. They also offered post-sales support, including product training and troubleshooting sessions for customers and distributors in the APAC region.

From 2011 to 2021, Kar worked at the National Cancer Centre Singapore. They held the position of Senior Research Officer/Lab Manager, where they successfully set up and managed a clinical research lab. They designed and optimized experimental standard operating procedures (SOPs) and conducted various translational research studies.

Prior to that, from 2011 to 2019, Kar worked as a Research Officer at the same institution. They conducted multiple translational research studies on photodynamic therapy and designed targeted drug delivery systems using nanoparticles.

Kar's early work experience includes being a Final Year Project Student at Nanyang Technological University from 2010 to 2011. During this time, they studied cell apoptosis activation and angiogenesis using different cell lines.

Overall, Kar Perng Low has extensive experience in technical support, application engineering, lab management, and translational cancer research.

Kar Perng Low completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University Singapore, from 2007 to 2011. In terms of additional certifications, Kar Perng Low obtained a Certificate of Completion in Human Biomedical Research Act (HBRA) Essentials from SingHealth in November 2020. Additionally, Kar Perng Low has completed various other certifications and trainings, including a Certificate of Completion in Biological Safety Awareness, Chemical Safety Awareness, and WSH Risk Management Course from SingHealth in October 2018. Kar Perng Low also completed trainings in microscopy and confocal microscopy from ZEISS Microscopy in September 2012 and April 2012 respectively. Other certifications include Responsible Care and Use of Laboratory Animals Course (RCULA) Certificate from SingHealth in January 2012, Research Safety Course Certificate of Attendance from National Cancer Centre Singapore in November 2011, and an N3 License from the National Environment Agency in February 2012.
