Sam Belden

Sam Belden has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 2016, they began their career at Vector Marketing as a Senior Field Sales Leader, where they achieved personal sales of over $27,000 and developed strong customer service skills.

In 2017, Sam joined Tulane MakerSpace as a Rapid Prototyping Technician, eventually ascending to the role of Senior Rapid Prototyping Technician. During their time there, they gained expertise in rapid prototyping techniques.

From 2018 to 2020, Sam worked at AxoSim, starting as a Market Research Intern and later becoming a Lab Technician. In this role, they contributed to assay development for neurodegenerative diseases, performed cell culture using various cell types, and conducted patch clamp-style electrophysiology.

In 2020, Sam joined Vertex Pharmaceuticals as a Research Associate II on a 6-month contract with the Human Assay Technologies team. Sam contributed to modeling muscular dystrophy and chronic kidney disease using iPSC derived organoids, implemented automated imaging and liquid handling approaches, and validated 3D bioprinting protocols for kidney organoids.

Most recently, starting in 2020, Sam has been working at CELLINK as an Account Manager, Field Engineer, and currently as a Research Consultant - West. In their role as Account Manager, they were responsible for the full sales cycle, driving sales growth for bioinks and consumables, building customer relationships, and acting as a subject matter expert for biomaterials support.

Sam Belden has a Master of Science (M.S) degree in Biomedical Engineering from Tulane University. They also have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S.E) degree in Biomedical Engineering from the same university. Prior to their college education, Sam attended Concord Carlisle High School. In addition to their degrees, Sam has a certification as a Certified Solidworks Professional from the SolidWorks Authorized Training Center.
