John O'Hara

John O'Hara has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. John started their career as a porter at Beaumont Hospital during their transition year work experience. John then worked as a barman at The Fingal House, where they gained experience in a busy environment and learned about cellar duties.

John joined Cellusys as a software engineer intern through the DCU Intra program. Here, they developed software for mobile network operators using Java and worked with various technologies like Spring, Maven, Jenkins, Selenium, and Junit.

After completing their internship, John continued their journey at Cellusys, where they held multiple roles. John started as a software engineer, working on the Cellusys Steering of Roaming platform, where they gained experience with AngularJS, ElasticSearch (NoSQL database), and Puppet (automated deployment). John then moved to become a senior software engineer, focusing on the Signalling Firewall product, an industry-leading SS7/Diameter firewall. Later, John took on the role of head of integration & implementation, leading the integration efforts within the company. Finally, they became the Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the overall operations of the company.

In parallel with their work at Cellusys, John also had a part-time role as a customer advisor at Home Retail Group PLC, specifically with Argos. This role helped him develop their interpersonal skills through customer service and emphasized the importance of teamwork and communication in a busy environment.

John O'Hara completed their education in two institutions. John then furthered their education at Dublin City University from 2009 to 2013, where they obtained a degree in Computer Applications Software Engineering, focusing on computer software engineering.
