Matteo Rossi is an accomplished R&D Project Manager and Senior Scientist at Celyad Oncology, where responsibilities include leading the development of a novel CAR-T engineering platform, resulting in two patent filings and the introduction of two candidate CARs into the company pipeline. Prior experience includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at VIB, where work focused on the metabolic dependencies of cancer and involved collaboration with over 50 researchers, leading to significant publications in Nature. As a Research Fellow at Istituto Toscano Tumori, Matteo identified a key regulatory kinase in autophagy and developed preclinical validation models for cancer therapies. Early research experience includes a Visiting Fellowship at the National Cancer Institute, where a novel mechanism of TP53 regulation was discovered, as well as work at Guthrie and the University of Bologna. Matteo holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Università di Siena and a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna.
