Eric Galis

Eric Galis is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in information security and compliance. Currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer and VP of Compliance and Security at Cengage Group since October 2017, Eric leads a team focused on infrastructure security, application security, and governance. Additional roles include membership on the Advisory Councils of Franklin Cummings Tech and CISO Executive Network, Vice Chair of BostonCISO, and participation in the 1EdTech Security Committee. Prior to Cengage Group, Eric held leadership positions at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and Pearson plc, enhancing security programs and engineering services. An early career included consulting at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and technical roles at the Center for Intelligent Information Retrieval and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Eric holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
