Mark Murphy

Mark Murphy is an experienced data professional currently serving as the Data Platform Lead at Centiva Capital since April 2023, where responsibilities include vendor data engineering, operations, onboarding, strategy, and contract management. Prior to this, Mark held the position of Manager - Research Data at GMO from January 2021 to April 2023, managing a substantial research data platform and leading an initiative to migrate to a next-generation environment using technologies such as Spark, Databricks, and Azure Synapse. As a Data Engineering Consultant at Infinity Analytics Inc. for over two decades, Mark provided business intelligence solutions in the financial sector, leading enterprise BI projects and architecting streaming ETL data warehouses. Additionally, Mark was the Director of Development and Architecture at Ionic Capital Management, overseeing software engineering and data architecture for a multi-billion AUM hedge fund. Educational qualifications include an M.B.A. from NYU Stern School of Business, with ongoing studies towards a Master of Liberal Arts in Data Science from Harvard Extension School, and a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University.
