James Michael has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. James began their career as an Associate Trainee at Digital Equipment Corporation in 1999. From 2000 to 2003, they worked as a Project Engineer at Hewlett-Packard, where they were responsible for migrating Kernel mode Print drivers to User Mode drivers for Windows XP and obtaining WHQL certification.
From 2003 to 2006, James served as a Project Leader at Hewlett-Packard, designing and developing smart preview for designjet drivers and leading a team of developers. James then took on the role of Project Manager from 2006 to 2008, managing the development team for HP Designjet and Inkjet Print Drivers and focusing on driver configuration and release management.
Between 2008 and 2009, James worked as a Scrum Master/Project Manager at Hewlett-Packard, facilitating sprint planning, retrospectives, and stakeholder meetings. James also contributed to the continuous improvement of the product/solution development lifecycle.
From 2009 to 2010, James managed the development of Managed Print Service (MPS) solutions at Peripherals Technology Group. James collaborated closely with project owners to ensure efficient backlog management and continuous delivery of features.
James rejoined Hewlett-Packard in 2010 as a Scrum Master, where they continued to drive continuous improvement in product/solution development and managed the development of Print on Demand solutions and Authenticated Rewards at Hewlett Packard.
From 2011 to 2013, James served as a Continuous Delivery Consultant at Hewlett-Packard, influencing and managing the product/solution development lifecycle process and collaborating with project owners to ensure the continuous delivery of features.
At Wipro, James took on the role of Program Manager from 2011 to 2016, providing strong program management leadership and overseeing staffing, planning, people management, profitability, process improvement, and strategic planning. James also served as a Cloud Infrastructure Automation Architect from 2013 to 2016, designing end-to-end solutions and working with development managers and product owners to meet partner requirements.
In 2017, James joined Centizen, Inc. as part of the Cloud Engineering team, where they led the development and engineering of a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) platform for Nike. James played a key role in building shared toolchains, infrastructure, and common libraries, and fostered an engineering culture focused on continuous improvement in security, reliability, availability, maintainability, and time to market.
Most recently, in 2022, James worked as a Principal Solutions Architect at ZenBasket, where they managed the cloud computing and platform architecture for the company. James navigated cloud environments for e-commerce applications, led teams, developed and implemented cloud strategies, and drove cultural change for cloud-native development.
James Michael completed their Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics at Manonmaniam Sundaranar University from 1994 to 1997. James then pursued a Master's Degree in Computer Applications at Bharathidasan University from 1997 to 2000. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications including AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in March 2022, Certified Scrum Master (CSM) from Scrum Alliance in May 2021, and Puppet Professional Certification from Puppet in 2014. James also holds a Certified Scrum Master certification from Wipro, although the exact date of attainment is unknown.
