Chris Junghans

Chris Junghans is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in project and product management within the life sciences sector. Currently serving as the Director of Joint Venture Project Management at CENTOGENE since January 2021, Chris is responsible for leading a project management team to deliver a state-of-the-art laboratory in Saudi Arabia. Previously, Chris held the position of Director and Head of Product & Method Development, focusing on the advancement of diagnostic methodologies such as Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS). Prior to joining CENTOGENE, Chris contributed as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Strasbourg and completed a PhD in Genome Sciences/Genomics at Université Laval. Chris's educational background also includes degrees in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from various institutions, with an emphasis on both theoretical and applied research. Additionally, early career experiences include sales and guiding roles in outdoor activities during academic studies in Germany.
