Central Synagogue is a thriving Reform congregation affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism.  We are one of the oldest Reform congregations in New York City, and one of the largest in North America.

Located in Midtown Manhattan, we serve more than 2,000 families in our congregation, as well as the larger community.  More than 800 students, from birth to twelfth grade, are enrolled in our Nursery and Religious Schools.

Central Synagogue stands at the heart of one of the greatest centers of Jewish life. It has always played a significant role in the national Reform movement and in the creative and complex Jewish community of New York City. Its clergy and members continue a long tradition of leadership at the local, national, and international levels of Jewish and civic organizations.

The Educational Support Team at Central Synagogue is dedicated to fostering a rich and inclusive learning environment for students from infancy through adolescence. This team, comprised of skilled educators and coordinators, develops and implements curricula that align with Reform Jewish values while addressing the diverse needs of learners, including special education and developmental learning. They also engage families in the educational process through innovative programs and support services, promoting lifelong Jewish learning and community involvement.

The Communications & Membership team at Central Synagogue is responsible for engaging and nurturing the congregation's community through effective communication strategies and membership outreach. They manage internal and external communications, promote programs and events, enhance member experiences, and facilitate connections among congregants. Additionally, they work to expand membership by promoting the value of belonging to the vibrant and diverse Central Synagogue community.
