Stephen Varma

Stephen Varma is an accomplished risk management professional currently serving as the Chief Risk Officer at The Private Infrastructure Development Group since September 2022. With extensive experience across various sectors, Stephen has held prominent positions including Trustee and Chair of the Risk and Audit Committee at Central YMCA, Head of Risk and Compliance at Britishvolt, and Senior Risk Professional at KPMG. Stephen previously built the Risk & Governance function at Rio Tinto and managed commercial and project risk at Morgan Sindall. Stephen's foundational career began at Transport for London and Halcrow Group Ltd. Educationally, Stephen holds an Executive MBA from the University of Cambridge and a BEng (Hons) from Brunel University of London.
