The Centre for Liminal Studies is an emerging international not-for-profit initiative dedicated to the study of consciousness, transition and transformation.

Based at Broughton Sanctuary in North Yorkshire, the Centre brings together research, dialogue and interdisciplinary collaboration across science, philosophy, culture, the arts and contemplative practice.

Our work explores liminal states: the thresholds between established categories, identities, disciplines and ways of knowing. In a time of rapid social, ecological and technological change, we believe these spaces of transition are among the most important areas of contemporary inquiry.

The Centre is being developed as a long-term global platform for research programmes, gatherings, publications and partnerships.
