Lisa Button

Lisa Button serves as the CEO of Community Refugee Sponsorship Australia since July 2019, leading initiatives previously under the Community Refugee Sponsorship Initiative. Concurrently, Lisa is a Fellow and Senior Project Manager at the Centre for Policy Development, focusing on refugee policy initiatives such as the Cities and Settlement Initiative and the Asia Dialogue on Forced Migration. From July 2019 to July 2021, Lisa was the Executive Director of the Community Refugee Sponsorship Initiative, and prior to that, worked as a consultant for Save the Children in 2018. From July 2016 to July 2018, Lisa held the role of Refugee and Asylum Seeker Policy and Advocacy Advisor at Save the Children, where policy work on protecting asylum seekers and refugees in Australia, Nauru, and the Asia Pacific region was led. Lisa holds a Master of Public and International Law in Human Rights Law and a BA/LLB (Hons) from the University of Melbourne.
