Karl Rees

Karl Rees is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in managing transformation initiatives and infrastructure projects within telecommunications. Currently serving as a Senior Transformation Change Manager at Centrica since January 2024, Karl focuses on significant change programmes within the British Gas field services division. Previously, as Head of Area Build at CityFibre from December 2022 to January 2024, Karl led the rollout of FTTP infrastructure across six cities in the South region, overseeing teams and collaborating with various stakeholders. With a long tenure at Openreach from September 1999 to December 2022, Karl held multiple leadership roles, including Programme Director for Copper and Fibre Newsites, where responsibilities included delivering FTTP networks to over 200,000 homes annually. Karl also has a background in business improvement consulting, leading teams to implement large-scale improvement projects. Karl holds a degree in Management and Business from the University of Wales, Cardiff.
