We are an innovative Jewish historical institute that uses new technologies to preserve Jewish memory - and we use those same technologies to bring Jewish history to life.

Centropa believes there is so much more to our 20th century European Jewish heritage than Holocaust. Our goal was to visit 1,200 elderly Jews--from Tallinn to Istanbul, from St Petersburg to Bucharest, and ask them to share with us stories of the entire 20th century. We never used video in our interviews. Instead, we digitized 22,000 privately-held old photographs and documents--and then made them available, free of charge, online.

Now we are creating multimedia films that are being shown in international film festivals on four continents.
