David Persing

David Persing is an accomplished executive in the medical and technology fields, currently serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Medical and Technology Officer at Cepheid since August 2005, where responsibilities include directing global research and development, establishing new initiatives, and engaging with the clinical community. Prior to this role, David worked at Corixa as Chief Scientific Officer and Vice President of Discovery Research, focusing on vaccine research and innate immunity. David's foundational experience includes founding and directing the Molecular Microbiology Laboratory at Mayo Clinic and completing a residency in Laboratory Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine. David holds MD and PhD degrees from the University of California, San Francisco, and a BA in Chemistry from San Jose State University.
