Steve Apperson

Steve Apperson has extensive experience in electrical engineering, currently serving as the Manager of Electrical Engineering at Cepheid since May 2021. Steve built a team for global policy ownership of electrical safety and EMC compliance and has a strong background in supporting manufacturing and engineering during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to Cepheid, Steve held various roles at Katalyst Surgical, including Director of Engineering for Capital Equipment, where leadership efforts led to the successful design and FDA approval of an ultrasonic aspirator system. Steve's earlier roles include Engineering Manager at Kogent Surgical and Vice President of Research and Development at NEMS/MEMS Works. Steve holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
