Dr. Daniel Schmidt has extensive work experience in the private market investment industry. Dr. Daniel founded CEPRES in 2011 and currently serves as the CEO. CEPRES is a leading private market investment data ecosystem that connects LPs, GPs, and fund of funds, allowing for secure exchange and analysis of investment data. Prior to founding CEPRES, Dr. Schmidt worked at Deutsche Bank from 2001 to 2010, where they served as a Managing Director of Deutsche Bank Private Equity Partners. In this role, they focused on private equity investments, fund structuring, and was the Head of Product Development and deal structuring. Before Deutsche Bank, they were an Investment Manager and Principal at Deutsche Bank Private Equity Partners / VCM Capital Management GmbH from 2001 to 2008.
Dr. Daniel Schmidt has a strong educational background in finance, private equity, and business administration. Dr. Daniel obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Finance/Private Equity from Goethe University Frankfurt in the years 2001-2004. Prior to that, they pursued a degree in business administration at the University of Mannheim from 1995-2001, where they completed their Dipl.Kfm. degree. Additionally, during the same period at Trinity College Dublin, they also earned a Dipl.Kfm. in Business Administration.
