Gang Wang

Gang Wang currently serves as the Director of NPI at Cepton, focusing on lidar product manufacturing process development and validation since May 2023. Previously, Gang held the position of Optical Metrology System Engineer at Apple, where responsibilities included optical test instrument customization, calibration, qualification, and integration from June 2022 to April 2023. Prior roles also include Director of Research Development at Kaistar Lighting, specializing in LED component R&D and lighting applications, and Director of R&D, Testing, and Application at Intematix, where engagement involved LED material/component application, characterization, and reliability. Gang's extensive background includes positions as Senior Engineer/Principal Engineer/Senior Manager in optical and electrical metrology instrumentation and R&D across various applications, as well as visiting researcher roles at SRI International and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Teaching experience includes a lecturer position at Tsinghua University. Gang holds a Ph.D. in Physics, Optics, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physics, both from Tsinghua University.
