Karl Yu

Karl Yu is the current Vice President of Engineering at Cepton, focusing on Lidar technology. They previously served as an R&D Design Authority and Team Leader at Lumentum from 2015 to 2019. Following that, Karl worked as an expert at Huawei from 2019 to 2021, specializing in coherent silicon photonics and automotive Lidar development, and then at NIO from 2021 to 2022, where they contributed to the development of in-vehicle intelligent hardware platforms. Karl earned a Bachelor's degree in Optical Information Science and Technology and a Master's degree in Physics from Changchun University of Science and Technology, along with a Master's degree in Optical Physics from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
