Anna Margolis

Principal Research Application Scientist

Anna Margolis possesses extensive experience in natural language processing and speech technology. Starting as an intern at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Anna conducted research on topic classification of telephone conversations. As a Research Assistant at the University of Washington, Anna developed systems for classifying participant roles in conversations and studied prosodic event classification. Anna's professional journey includes roles as a Teaching Assistant, Speech Scientist at Vlingo, and Research Engineer at Nuance Communications, where Anna enhanced voice assistant applications' natural language understanding. Currently, Anna serves as a Principal Research Application Scientist at Cerence Inc. Anna holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Chicago and both a Master's and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington.
