Murat Deviren

Murat Deviren is a seasoned expert in Natural Language Understanding (NLU) and speech recognition technologies with over 20 years of experience. Currently serving as Senior Manager of NLU Research Applications at Cerence Inc. since September 2019, Murat leads a global team of linguists and research scientists to enhance speech recognition and language understanding across various platforms. Prior to this role, Murat held multiple positions at Nuance Communications, contributing to the accuracy improvement of cloud-based NLU systems and leading acoustic modeling research. Murat's earlier career includes significant roles at IBM and various research and teaching positions, complemented by an extensive academic background culminating in a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Henri Poincare University.
