Sharon Snyder has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Sharon is currently a Principal Research Engineer at Cerence Inc., where they work on developing tools for Natural Language Processing annotation. Prior to this, they held the same position at Nuance Communications, where they worked from 2013 to 2019.

Sharon has also worked as a Software Developer at Liquidnet, initially starting as a consultant and later becoming a full-time employee. At Liquidnet, they were part of a small team providing support monitoring and troubleshooting tools and technologies to the support desk.

Before joining Liquidnet, Sharon worked at IBM for several years. Sharon held the role of Advisory Software Engineer and worked on various speech and text processing-related products and SDKs. Sharon had hands-on experience with the development process from multiple perspectives, including tester, technical support lead, help desk lead, developer, and team lead.

Sharon began their career as a Programmer/Analyst at American Management Systems, where they worked on the NYC FAIRTAX project. Sharon developed DB2 & COBOL in both batch and live environments on an IBM mainframe and focused on complex DB2 queries to ensure data accuracy and performance.

Sharon Snyder completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University at Albany, SUNY from 1985 to 1989. Sharon then pursued their Master of Science degree in Computer Science from New York University - Polytechnic School of Engineering, from 1992 to 1994.
