Cynthia Knable has a diverse background in the educational publishing industry. Cynthia spent several years as the CEO of CeresEd, where they worked closely with major U.S. educational publishers and test developers. Prior to that, they founded and served as the president of Anaxos Inc., overseeing the development of numerous educational and reference materials. Cynthia also worked as a freelance writer and editor before joining The Princeton Review as Editor in Chief, where they significantly expanded their list of titles and contributed to the success of the company's Guide to the Best Colleges.

Cynthia Knable obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A), summa cum laude degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from Tulane University in the years 1986 to 1989. Cynthia then pursued a Master of Science degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Boston University from 1989 to 1991. Finally, they completed a Master of Arts (M.A.) and Doctoral Studies in English Language and Literature/Letters at The University of Texas at Austin from 1995 to 2001. In addition to their educational qualifications, Cynthia Knable has obtained certifications such as WBENC from the Women's Business Council - Southwest in July 2019 and HUB Certified from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts in March 2019.
