Alejandro Iribarren

Alejandro Iribarren serves as the Cloud IaaS and Linux Platform Engineering Section Leader at CERN since October 2005, leading teams focused on cloud interfaces for efficient provisioning of compute resources. Previously, Alejandro held roles as the Tech Lead for Linux Platform Engineering, managing Linux services and distribution customization, as well as serving as the Lead Service Manager for CERN's Backup Service, overseeing a substantial data infrastructure. Additionally, Alejandro contributed to IT procurement at CERN, managing a significant hardware budget. In December 2023, Alejandro became a Board Member of the AlmaLinux Foundation. Prior experience includes working as an IT Specialist and Project Support at IBM Global Services. Alejandro holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Universidad Pontificia Comillas, obtained in 2005.
