Daniel Schoerling

Scientific Engineer

Daniel Schoerling is a highly experienced Scientific Engineer currently serving as Section Leader in the Superconducting Magnets and Cryostats Group at CERN since December 2011. In this role, Daniel has been instrumental in the design efforts for FCC-hh magnets, co-leading the EuroCirCol project and collaborating with over 50 experts from national labs and universities. Daniel's responsibilities have included defining all interfaces for the 11 T dipole, developing a high-temperature superconducting magnet program, and leading quality control for diode insulation during the LHC LongShutdown2. Previously, Daniel held roles as an Electrical Engineer at CERN, where a team was successfully led in procuring and commissioning magnets for the ELENA ring, a Junior Engineer at Siltronic AG focusing on industrial control systems, and a Sales Engineer at Koenig & Bauer. Daniel holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and dual Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration from TU Bergakademie Freiberg, complemented by academic experience at institutions such as the University of Alberta and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
