Edward Barnes

Edward Barnes is a mechanical engineer currently employed at CERN, where responsibilities include mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and quality assurance for the VAX system in the HiLumi project since September 2023. Previously, Edward served as a graduate mechanical engineer at Diamond Light Source from June 2022 to August 2023, focusing on the design of the new SWIFT beamline for Diamond-II upgrades, and gained valuable experience through internships at CERN and the University of Southampton, including work on advanced simulations and engineering analyses. Edward holds a Master of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Southampton and has furthered education at Delft University of Technology and Lycée International de Ferney-Voltaire.
