Fairouz Malek

Fairouz Malek is a distinguished research director at CNRS, leading efforts in the Laboratoire de Physique Subatomique et de Cosmologie de Grenoble since 1991. Malek serves as the scientific coordinator for the international research network PAULINE and has held various leadership roles, including project leader for "La Science taille XX Elles" and coordinating projects like WADAPT-LPSC and P2IM, an international research collaboration between France and Morocco. In addition to founding and serving as principal investigator for LCG-France, Malek also contributes to the ATLAS collaboration at CERN, being actively involved in its EDI Office and various committees. Current academic appointments include extraordinary professor at Stellenbosch University and member of the African Academy of Sciences. Education includes a PhD in Nuclear and Particle Physics from Université Grenoble Alpes, alongside various accolades for initiatives aimed at reducing the gender gap in science and increasing collaboration in physics research.
