Fons Rademakers has extensive experience in high-energy physics and software development at CERN, currently serving as Project Leader for the CERN Backup Service project, CBACK, and as Chief Research Officer and former Chief Technology Officer of CERN openlab. Rademakers has also been a Senior Scientist and leader of the ROOT project, contributing significantly to the ALICE experiment at the LHC. Prior to returning to CERN, Rademakers worked as a consultant at Hewlett-Packard, where collaboration with CERN included the development of the ROOT project. Rademakers began the academic journey with a PhD in Physics from the University of Amsterdam and has a strong foundation from both undergraduate studies and secondary education in physics.
