Gerard Willering

Gerard Willering is an Applied Physicist currently working at CERN, where they lead the Magnet Qualification and Analysis section within the Technology department. They have extensive experience in experimental research and modeling focused on superconducting cables, having previously earned a PhD in Applied Physics from the University of Twente. Gerard's past roles include serving as a Senior Research Fellow, where they managed testing operations for superconducting cables and contributed to significant projects such as the LHC's magnet interconnection program. Their early career included an internship at Medisch Spectrum Twente and research at Florida State University on High Temperature Superconducting cables for magnet applications.
