Jan Bengsch is a researcher and PhD candidate affiliated with NTNU, currently at CERN since April 2025, focusing on the integration of clean heat pump technologies and the utilization of surplus heat to enhance the energy efficiency of district heating and cooling systems. Jan has previous experience as a project engineer at BS|ENERGY, where the role involved technical project development within green district heating plants, and as a student assistant at iwb Ingenieure and TLK-Thermo GmbH. Jan holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Ostfalia - University of Applied Sciences and a Master of Science from Technische Universität Braunschweig, with additional studies at Klaipeda University and Instituto Politécnico do Porto. Notably, Jan also completed a master thesis investigating a CO2 heat pump chiller.
