João Fernandes

João Fernandes is a Project Specialist at CERN, contributing to the IT Department since October 2007. With notable roles including Project Lead in the IT-CS Group, responsible for networking and telephony services, and leadership of the award-winning ARCHIVER project, João has significant experience in managing complex technical projects. Currently, as Technical Coordinator for the HNSciCloud project, João oversees hybrid cloud solutions for scientific applications. Before joining CERN, experience included Systems Engineer at the California Institute of Technology, focusing on real-time collaboration systems for the LHC community, and a traineeship at FCT, involved in the CMS Experiment at CERN. An engineering background is supported by a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Universidade do Porto.
