Joao Seixas

Researcher

Joao Seixas is a highly experienced physicist with significant contributions to both academia and research. Currently serving as Director at the Associated Laboratory for Advanced Materials and Emerging Technologies and President of the Center for Physics and Engineering of Advanced Materials (CeFEMA), Seixas also holds an Associate Professor position at IST, where involvement in the Physics Department spans several years. Notably, Seixas has been a researcher at CERN since 1983, focusing on the polarization of vector particles and Higgs spin measurement, along with roles as a Scientific Associate and Fellow in various areas of particle physics. Educationally grounded with a PhD in Physics from Université Lyon I, Seixas has held various positions since 1980 at Instituto Superior Técnico and previously at LIP, contributing to the physics curriculum and research initiatives.
