Jochen Schieck

Jochen Schieck is the Director of the Marietta Blau Institute for Particle Physics at ÖAW and a Professor at Technische Universität Wien. They previously served as the Vice President of the Council and Chair of the Audit Committee at CERN from 2019 to 2022. Jochen held the position of Director at HEPHY - Institute of High Energy Physics from 2013 to 2025 and has been involved in significant research collaborations, including the ATLAS Collaboration at CERN, while also contributing to teaching and science management. Their academic journey began at Universität Heidelberg, where they earned a Diplom in Physics and a Ph.D. in Physics.
