Marco Volponi is currently a Senior Research Fellow at CERN, working on the AEgIS Experiment, where they explore the effects of gravitational attraction on antihydrogen and study exotic atomic systems. Previously, Marco earned a PhD from the University of Trento, during which they developed TALOS, a framework for autonomous control systems in atomic and quantum physics experiments. They have also held research positions at ESA/ESTEC, focusing on bioregenerative life support systems, and at Thales Alenia Space, where they contributed to the development of an autonomous greenhouse for space cultivation. Marco holds a Master's degree in Theoretical Physics from the Università degli Studi di Genova and completed a master’s program in Space Exploration and Development Systems at the Politecnico di Torino.
