Mithat Kaya

Experimental High Energy Physics

Mithat Kaya is a Professor at Marmara University since April 2014, focusing on teaching and research. Concurrently, Mithat Kaya conducts research at CERN as part of the CMS experiment since May 2003, primarily during summer breaks. Previously, Mithat Kaya served as a Professor at Kafkas University from April 2001 to April 2014, where responsibilities included lectures, research, and administrative duties. Early career experience includes a position as a Researcher and Ph.D. student at Fermilab from September 1994 to April 2001, specializing in Multiwire proportional chambers and asymmetry in Ds charm meson production. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in High Energy Physics from the University of Iowa (1997-2000), a Master's in Detector Physics from the University of Iowa (1994-1997), a Master's in High Energy Physics from Istanbul Technical University (1992-1993), and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Istanbul University (1988-1992). Additionally, Mithat Kaya completed high school at Esenevler Lisesi (1984-1987).
