Pascal Hermes

Staff Accelerator Physicist

Pascal Hermes is a Staff Accelerator Physicist at CERN since February 2021, specializing in the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) upgrade for enhanced beam intensities. Previously, Pascal served as a Quantitative Risk Specialist at UBS from May 2018 to January 2021 and as a Senior Fellow at CERN from November 2016 to April 2018. Pascal's early career at CERN included roles as a Doctoral Student focusing on heavy-ion collimation (2013-2016) and as a Technical Student working on magnet optics for a Master's thesis (2012-2013). Pascal began professional training at the Laboratoire de l'Accélérateur Linéaire in 2010 as a Bachelor Student. Academic qualifications include a Doctorate in Natural Sciences, a Master of Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Münster, as well as a Licence 3 in Applied Physics from Paris-Sud University.
