Philip Mathew is a researcher at CERN since September 2023, focusing on the analysis of QCD event shapes for α extraction in various operation modes of the FCC-ee under the supervision of Manjit Kaur and Ritu Aggarwal. Philip has extensive experience as a tour guide at CERN, leading over 60 tours on physics and engineering, and previously worked as an R&D engineer on high-power converters for the LHC and injector complex. Prior to this, Philip served as an R&D engineer at Hitachi Energy, specializing in semiconductors for gigawatt HVDC systems, and completed a master's thesis at Technische Universiteit Delft on dielectric aging phenomena. Philip held leadership roles such as President of the Sterkstroomdispuut and Head of Design for the Maxwell Committee, while also contributing to Prysmian Group in cable joint design. Academic qualifications include an M.Sc. in High Voltage Physics from Delft University of Technology and a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka.
