Philippe Bélanger

Research Collaborator

Philippe Bélanger is a graduate research assistant at TRIUMF since October 2018 and a research collaborator at CERN since September 2018, having previously held a stagiaire position at CERN from May to September 2017. At CERN, Philippe is involved in the Machine Protection and Electrical Integrity Group, focusing on the behavior of unidentified falling objects in the accelerator and assessing the potential of diamond beam loss monitors. Prior to these roles, Philippe gained relevant experience as a stagiaire at MDA, where responsibilities included quality control of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components for space applications, and at the Laboratoire des Fibres Optiques, developing optical couplers. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Physics from The University of British Columbia and a Master of Science in Physics from the same institution, along with a Baccalauréat in Génie physique from Polytechnique Montréal.
