Romain Wartel

Romain Wartel is a seasoned security professional with extensive experience in protecting critical infrastructure and resources within the scientific community. Currently part of the Security Team at Energy Sciences Network (ESnet) since October 2023, Romain has also contributed to CERN since September 2005. At CERN, Romain serves as a member of the CERN Security Team, focused on detecting, defending, and protecting organizational assets. Additionally, as the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG) Security Officer, Romain safeguards the academic and research community's resources and people, ensuring the integrity of the distributed computing infrastructure that supports CERN's large accelerator. Romain previously led grid security operations as the EGEE Security Officer, where oversight was provided for the EGEE Operational Security Coordination Team (OSCT).
