Sebastien Ponce has extensive experience in software architecture and development, currently serving as the LHCb upgrade software architect at CERN since September 2000. In this role, Sebastien leads the development of prototypes to assess significant changes in the LHCb experiment's application framework, event model, detector description, and conditions database. Previously, Sebastien held positions as project leader and developer of CERN's mass storage system, and contributed as a software developer in the LHCb experiment. Prior to joining CERN, Sebastien worked as a software integrator at Sun Microsystems, focusing on system integrations in electronic commerce and Java technologies. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Computer Science from EPFL, an engineering degree from Télécom Paris, and another engineering degree from École Polytechnique.
