Sergio F. Novaes is a Full Professor of Physics at São Paulo State University (Unesp) since April 1990, leading the CMS group in São Paulo and serving as the Principal Investigator of the São Paulo Research and Analysis Center (SPRACE) since 2003. As a co-founder of the Advanced Institute for Artificial Intelligence (AI2) and the Scientific Director of the Center for Scientific Computing at Unesp, Novaes has led several R&D projects in collaboration with private sector companies including Padtec, Intel, and Huawei. Additionally, Novaes has been the Group Leader of SPRACE at CERN since January 2003, contributing to research within the CMS Collaboration at the LHC. Previous experience includes roles as a Guest Scientist at Fermilab with the DZero Collaboration and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, specializing in High Energy Physics. Educational qualifications include a PhD in High Energy Physics from University of São Paulo and a Master's degree from the Instituto de Física Teórica.
