Simon Straarup

Simon Straarup is a Technical Electromechanical Engineer at CERN since February 2022, with experience in metrology of superconducting magnets, including construction deformations and welding data, utilizing laser trackers and CMM arms. Prior to this role, Simon served as a Technical Engineer Intern, focusing on machinery's overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and quality control. Simon has also worked as a Student Tutor at Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering, developing and facilitating an introductory course while supporting new students. As a Self-Employed Contractor and Senior Project Manager, Simon managed specialized contractor projects and business operations. Earlier experience includes working as a Farm Equipment Mechanic, specializing in repairs and maintenance of agricultural machinery. Simon holds a Bachelor of Technology Management and Marine Engineering from Aarhus Maskinmesterskole and a vocational qualification as a Farm Equipment Mechanic.
