Sofia Hurst

Sofia Hurst is currently serving as the CERN CMS Communications Manager, responsible for managing all aspects of communications for the CMS Experiment at CERN since February 2023. Previously, Sofia held roles as a Communications Officer for the Sparks! Serendipity Forum at CERN, a News Editor and Content Creator for I, Science magazine, and a Researcher at the Open Data Institute focusing on data policy analysis. Sofia completed an MSc in Science Communication at Imperial College London after earning a BSc in Natural Sciences with a specialization in Physics, Philosophy, and Climate Science from Durham University. Additional experience includes strategic consulting at IBM, co-founding the tea subscription business Naniki, and various internships and charitable projects related to education and community support.
