Tim Smith

Tim Smith has extensive experience at CERN, beginning as a Fellow in Physics Research and advancing to roles such as Section Leader in IT Data Services and IT Computing Fabric Services, and ultimately serving as Coordinator of the Open Quantum Institute and Coordinator of IT Communication and Outreach. In these positions, Tim has been responsible for developing and executing IT strategies, overseeing communication and education initiatives, managing enterprise collaboration tools, and leading various panels focused on harassment investigations and equal opportunities. Additionally, Tim served as a Research Associate at the University of Victoria, focusing on the OPAL online reconstruction farm and chairing the OPAL electroweak working group. Tim holds a PhD in Particle Physics and a BSc in Physics from the University of Birmingham.
