Towsifa Akhter is a Graduate Research Student at CERN since August 2023 and has been a Graduate Research Assistant at Texas A&M University since September 2020, focusing on the CMS Experiment at the LHC under the guidance of Dr. Teruki Kamon. Previous roles include an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Penn State University, working on projects related to LIGO criteria for detecting black hole binaries, and participating in a Physics REU at Oklahoma State University, where involvement was with a research group connected to the ATLAS experiment at CERN. Towsifa's early research experience also includes roles in X-ray astronomy and pulsar search collaborations during undergraduate studies at Penn State. Towsifa holds a PhD and MS in Physics from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor's degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics with a Minor in Math from Penn State University.
