Wayne Salter is an experienced IT Computing Facilities Group Leader at CERN, a position held since January 2010, after serving in various roles including Joint Controls Project Leader and IT Controls Group Leader. With a career at CERN beginning in July 1996, Salter has significantly contributed to the operation of central computing facilities and support for LHC experiments. Previously, as a Space Systems Consultant at GSOC (Deutsche Forschungsanstalt für Luft- und Raumfahrt - DLR) from February 1988 to July 1996, Salter focused on designing ground systems for manned space missions, including notable projects like EUROMIR95 and Columbus. Earlier experience includes working as an AOCS Engineer at BAE Systems from 1984 to 1988, where responsibilities encompassed the development and testing of satellite control systems. Salter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford, obtained from 1981 to 1984.
